Donate

Radical Action Grants are funded entirely by donations. If you are able to donate towards environmental and climate work in Aotearoa New Zealand, supporting Radical Action Grants is a great way to make your dollars count.

  • Want to support groups fighting fossil fuel exploration?
  • Short on time but want to support grassroots climate activism?
  • Know exactly what it’s like to run community projects on the smell of an oily bike-chain, and have a few dollars you can contribute?
  • Want to stand in solidarity with mahi for a Just Transition?

People from many walks of life, and from across Aotearoa, support these grants. See the list of Recipients for the amazing work that Radical Action Grants has funded.

We have a Raisely account where you can make a one-off or recurring donation using your credit or debit card (a small transaction fee applies).

While anonymous donations are welcome, we’d appreciate it if you include your last name in the reference field, and email us on radicalactiongrants@riseup.net so we can say thank you and email you a receipt.

Please note, donations to Radical Action Grants are not tax deductible. Only registered charities are eligible for tax deductible status. We want to support radical grassroots activism.

Automatic payments

Pledges are incredibly important to Radical Action Grants. A little money over a long time really helps, and it allows us to budget for future rounds.

To set up an automatic payment, you can:

  • Use your debit or credit card through our Raisely account
  • Visit a branch of your bank
  • Phone your bank
  • Set it up online via internet banking
  • Download the Automatic Payment Form, fill it in and drop it in to your bank

Accountability

  • All of the money you donate to Radical Action Grants goes into the grant pool. Radical Action Grants members have undertaken to personally fund any operating costs (such as getting the word out there about RAG).
  • We ask applicant groups to provide referees so we can check it’s a valid application, and to help the panel assess distribution of funding.
  • We post a list of successful applicants on our website after each funding round. We will also announce this on our Facebook page.
  • Groups that receive funding are required to provide a written report within six months after receiving the funding, so we can hear how their projects went.
  • Radical Action Grants Incorporated is a non-profit incorporated society and its financial report is posted to the Incorporated Societies website annually.
